The Must Attend Social Housing Event of the Year

Kinetic are hosting this years must attend Social Housing event on December 13th. The event welcomes those organisations companies and stakeholders with ties and interest in the sector. The event entitled Powering the future of community housing: Compass Housing’s pioneering system innovation will be held at Four Points by Sheraton, Darling Harbour Sydney.

The afternoon event will demonstrate the Live Compass system but have something compelling for all attendees and will feature an alliance of Kinetic, Elton Consulting, Compass Housing and the OAS Technology Group. Key speakers will include leading industry guru Dr. Tony Gilmour who will launch a specially sponsored White Paper and position the need to build capacity in the sector. Compass CEO Greg Budworth and Kinetic Systems Director Scott Graham will also speak at the event.

Workshop Breakout Sessions

Session 1 Rental payments: financial processing, including Centrelink and PostBillPay payments

Complete recording of all financial transactions on each property, including rent, bond, water, maintenance, payment of landlords, bond boards, cost recovery from tenants and landlords. Streamlining of bulk receipt imports. All flowing through to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger on line in real time.

Session 2 Property maintenance: both cyclical and reactive

Recording of a property’s entire maintenance history and costs, reportable by type i.e. responsive, planned and upgrade activity e.g. plumbing, carpentry, cleaning responsibility i.e. landlord, tenant, housing association and, of course, date.

Session 3 Tenant information: maintaining accurate records (It’s all about Tenant satisfaction!)

Recording of all communications with tenants as well as maintaining information regarding household demographics, support agency relationships, allocation needs, history etc, allowing housing managers and community development officers to foster a comprehensive and informed relationship more aligned with their clients’ changing circumstances.

Session 4 Property development: monitoring progress and costs against budget

With a job hierarchy reflecting the project structure costs can be captured and reported at any level at any time and capitalised to Fixed Assets on handover.

Session 5 Control systems: reducing human error and deliver a better service for clients

Rules and escalations have been put in place to ensure all tenant contact is followed through in a timely manner and to its conclusion, from maintenance to routine inspections to complaints. Process flows which document the steps to be performed, for example when placing a new tenant into a property, ensure all required information is captured and documented.

Session 6 Management Information and reporting: including returns to the Registrar, Community Housing Division and other stakeholders

Key performance indicators including:

  • Rent arrears
  • Reletting of voids
  • Maintenance responsiveness
  • Complaints

Reporting requirements including:

  • Quarterly statistics
  • Funding reporting
  • Source and application of funds by program
  • Quarterly financial report to the registrar
